The Spastics Society of Tamilnadu (SPASTN) has been working for 20 years to assist people with disabilities to overcome negative community attitudes and to develop the skills they need to participate more fully in community life.

Founded in 1981 as a welfare provision organization, SPASTN has evolved into an organization dedicated to the empowerment of people with disabilities through human resources development community inclusion and participation. Today, SPASTN works to help empower people with disabilities to determine their own development agenda, and to contribute to the economic, social, and cultural advancement of their communities on an equal basis with others in society.

Sense International (India) is providing technical support by inviting educators to training programmes.
