National Association for the Blind, Karnataka, Bangalore

The National Association for the Blind, Karnataka branch was established in 1977 with a wide range of activities for the education, training and placement of blind persons. The association is running training centers for imparting mobility training and vocational training to blind persons from all over the state.

It is also involved in implementing Integrated Education Programmes in the urban and rural areas. Blind children attend regular schools as day scholars and live with their parents. Besides this it also has an employment and placement service for blind candidates and a self-employment programme for blind persons.

Sense International (India) is supporting the Association in establishing a Home based programme for deafblind children in Bangalore and its surrounding villages.
