The overall aim of the Governing
Council is to guide Sense International (India) towards independence. This involves
determining what "independence" means, determining realistic criteria
for achieving this and setting a plan of action and timescales for doing this.

Dr. Bhushan Punani, Executive director of Blind People’s Association is a management graduate form one of the premium institutes of India and has committed his life to support people with disabilities. He is a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) committee, General Council of National Institute for visually handicapped and member of Expert committee of various schemes of Government of India. He is also a rehabilitation consultant of Sight Savers International, Christian Blind Mission and many more international nonprofits.
