Governance
The overall aim of the Governing
Council is to guide Sense International (India) towards independence. This involves
determining what "independence" means, determining realistic criteria
for achieving this and setting a plan of action and timescales for doing this.
The brief biography of the Governing Council Members is
as follows:

Dr. Bhushan Punani, Executive director of Blind People?s Association is a management graduate form one of the premium institutes of India and has committed his life to support people with disabilities. He is a member of the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) committee, General Council of National Institute for visually handicapped and member of Expert committee of various schemes of Government of India. He is also a rehabilitation consultant of Sight Savers International, Christian Blind Mission and many more international nonprofits.

Murray is a senior development worker, based in Bangalore, who has mostly worked with the voluntary sector in India. His passion for many years has been to encourage voluntary/ civil society organisations to communicate with and raise resources from the public and become more accountable. Through and alongside Mahiti (a technology company) a number of initiatives continue to focus on his passion. Murray was part of the core team out of which Credibility Alliance emerged; and in the early 1990s was responsible for Oxfam's work in India.

Richard Brook is currently the Chief Executive of Sense- one of the worlds largest deafblind charity based in United Kingdom. Prior to this assignment, he was Chief Executive of the Public Guardianship Office in UK. He has many years of experience in the public and not-for-profit sectors.
