It is estimated that there are more than 450,000 deafblind children in India. This is a significant group of children who are receiving virtually no educational stimulation at all. Most of these children remain in total isolation at home. Some are sent to schools that do not understand the complex needs of deafblind children and are thus totally inappropriate for developing their skills.
