Abhoy Mission is a research and rehabilitation center for the senior citizens, disabled and mentally ill persons. The organisation is functioning to provide well-structured and multidimensional services to the persons with disabilities and senior citizens including taking the community at large into account. This organisation has been running one Special School for mentally retarded (M R) children with the title “SWABALAMBAN” in the state capital at Agartala since 1991. It was the first and foremost school in the state of its type to impart teaching in special methods and with latest modern techniques. Children of this Institute have been studying simultaneously in the normal school to favour integration and inclusion into the main stream.
